{single moment}

A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savour and remember.    Inspired by Soulemama.

Please feel free to share your photographic moments,                                                    leave a link in the comments section for all to find and see.

milk please

It would seem that while I was at work yesterday, we ran out of milk.  I am faced with a morning off, with no milk for my tea.   Perhaps this is the universe making sure I get out for a power walk before said tea, before the day gets away from me.  Surely some kind neighbour along my route must have a bit of milk they can send me home with.  I better go check….in the meantime, here is one of my paintings to help the universe along!  It is called “milk please” and I hope it will help!

tea by the sea with my girls

I love to take a thermos of tea to the sea.  Sometimes we take our tin cups and go scrambling over the rocks.  Lately we have taken our fancy cups and perched everything just so.  Enjoying the magic of the the sea with a bit more ceremony, a bit more lingering, a bit more magic….

 …..and in between cuppas (sometimes with cups in hand), there still seems to be plenty of scrambling over the rocks!  Besides, they do make the best perches for tea sipping in style.

I must go now, the kettle is ready for me to make this morning’s tea.  I would love to hear about your favourite tea rituals or recipes, so please drop in and share in the comments!

P.S. The skirt my eldest is wearing was made by moi….on my lunch breaks at the office!  A dear colleague of mine showed me how and now I want to make more….if you are also interested, check out this simple tutorial!

circle of love

Thirteen years ago today we made it official with a beautiful ceremony by the sea!  Saying our vows on a rocky point where we first went SCUBA diving together, surrounded by our dear friends and family.  Today, once the kids are in bed, we celebrate simply with a snuggle and some cherry topped ice cream — grateful is the word that comes to mind. Grateful for the time we have shared, for the adventures along the way, and most of all for our incredible girls.  Extra thankful that our youngest is home from hospital today (oh those broken arms can be more difficult than I thought).  Together today, with messages of love and best wishes coming from all our friends and family to help Alex heal, to help us cope. We are ever blessed by the circle of love that has surrounded us from that magic day when we said “I do” by the sea, when we asked all present to support and help us along the way.  I am so grateful, we are so blessed.
