….and still smiling!! here we are then (2000) and now (2015). I am so very lucky!
Hello to all of you who love stationary as much as I do! I have good news from my studio today — I am bundling up some new card designs to take to Artzi Stuff (in Nanaimo), Pier Gallery and Village Food Market (both on Gabriola). There are some sweet ones if I do say so myself. The bike would be perfect for an anniversary card, the “good friend” one could do the same duty but would also be perfect for a mother’s day card. The camping surfers scene would be perfect to send to someone with your summer news. There is a new oyster catcher (since I received so much good feedback about the first one) and “trust the universe” is a reminder we all need to hear once in awhile. Then there are those feathers topped by party flags, they would be perfect for any sentiment I think!
I will also be replenishing all three shops with some of my other favourites, just in time for mother’s day. If you don’t have time to make your mother/grandmother/mother-of-your-children a card, then why not consider one of these? Whatever you do, please honour the mothers in your life in some special way….they deserve it!
P.S. remember, all my cards are printed on 100% recycled paper, so they are a gift for mother earth too!
on this day, one year ago, we were on our way to Paris…..by road and train and lots of excitement…..there was even a parade en route that was for everyone who celebrated a decade milestone birthday that year (10, 20, 30, 40…..up to 90)….how perfect given I had just celebrated my birthday and Dimitri and I fit into the special 40th year section of the parade!!! The super fast TGV could barely keep up with the pace of my beating heart and the rainy streets that greeted up could not dampen our spirits as we got ready for a couple days of romance in the city of love!
Thirteen years ago today we made it official with a beautiful ceremony by the sea! Saying our vows on a rocky point where we first went SCUBA diving together, surrounded by our dear friends and family. Today, once the kids are in bed, we celebrate simply with a snuggle and some cherry topped ice cream — grateful is the word that comes to mind. Grateful for the time we have shared, for the adventures along the way, and most of all for our incredible girls. Extra thankful that our youngest is home from hospital today (oh those broken arms can be more difficult than I thought). Together today, with messages of love and best wishes coming from all our friends and family to help Alex heal, to help us cope. We are ever blessed by the circle of love that has surrounded us from that magic day when we said “I do” by the sea, when we asked all present to support and help us along the way. I am so grateful, we are so blessed.
This week’s photo prompt at the 52 Photos Project is {VINTAGE}…..how fitting that my man and I celebrated our 20 year FIRST KISS anniversary this week. Seems this shot from the early days must almost certainly be classified as VINTAGE, at least for us. So here you are, a peek at vintage us….
Some people (including, sometimes, my hubby) don’t understand the need to keep celebrating this day after you get married and have a wedding anniversary. But he humours me (remember how he whisked me off to Mexico last year?)…..and I say, “any excuse to eat cake!”
What upcoming excuses do you have to make cake & celebrate?
