now you can WEAR MY ART!

Polarity Necklace

I am so excited to share this news with you! You can now WEAR MY ART on a gorgeous locket made of recycled steel! How cool is that!!?  There is an amazing maker on Etsy who offers a whole range of wearable art from her Polarity shop!  Necklaces, bracelets and rings – all made to fit interchangeable magnetic ART covered lids!  I have always wanted to order a set and was thrilled when Cat Ivins responded so positively with my request that she consider adding my art to her shop!  Now Polarity carries two sets of my art (each set includes 3 different lids with my art and you always get one free bonus lid…you get a custom stamped initial charm too). Of course, if you want to order them, I would request that you order through MY etsy shop!  If you prefer to order a bracelet, ring or a different necklace option (check out the sweet leather options!), please contact me for a custom listing, see more samples in the Polarity shop).

Have a look and spread the word, maybe there is someone you know (like you!) that would love to get a sweet locket set made with some of my favourite paintings!

Check out the first set (words, wings and water)….

P.S. I ordered the smaller size lockets for my girls (and shorter chains, see options in my shop listings)…..they LOVE THEM!!! Tomorrow (for Valentine’s Day) they will be getting a few new lockets with designs by some of my favourite etsian artists (like Cori Dantini and Shira Sela…did you know Shira is from Montreal!?).  Polarity really does create a whole lot of art fun for your every day! Speaking of fun, here’s a peek at some of the Christmas day joy these necklaces brought!

hello spring

After weeks of frog song and a dash of summer-like sunshine (bare-toed beach picnics included), I was more than ready to welcome SPRING today!  How lucky I am to have a job that includes field work, especially on this first day that needs to be spent outdoors.  A beach seine with a dozen students (waders helped with the torrential rain) and a creek walk with fellow colleagues and fellow Streamkeepers volunteers too (mud on my boots, still wet and cold from the morning session but bubbling with excitement of plans to help the creek). Then home, exhausted, a grumpy re-entry…..balance found again with a home cooked meal thanks to my man and an after dinner spring painting session with my girl. I just peeled the paper snowflakes off the windows to make room for the new art, the new energy, the new season.  Here’s hoping it will be full of lush new growth for all of us!  Hello spring, I am so ready for you!

sending a little rain to Tacoma

What a lovely surprise, to see a note from my Etsy shop that a woman in Tacoma, Washington wants one of my calendars!  She ordered one of the RAIN MEETS THE SEA design and I am so happy that someone on the west coast loves my art enough to order in some extra rain!

2014 at a Glance RAIN MEETS THE SEA 12x18

I do not often get a random sale on Etsy, but when I do it really boosts my confidence as a selling artist!

Have you made someone’s day and bought a creation by an Etsy artist you have never met?  Try it! I bet you will love it (and I know the seller will too)!

2014 calendars are READY!

Where does the time go?  It keeps zooming along and here we are looking at the last month of 2013!  It has been an amazing year and I am hoping for more good things in the coming year.

To get us all started, I am happy to announce that I have completed my 2014 Year at a Glance Calendars in time for holiday gift giving!  Many of you requested I do so after I launched them a little late last year (in the New Year).  After much deliberating and polling of some of my artsy friends, I have decided on four designs for this year: “Rain Meets the Sea”, “Trust the Universe”, “Milk Please”, and the very popular “Tea Cup To Do List”.

Thanks to my hubby for creating a beautiful template and a local print shop for zipping up my order, I now have some for sale in my etsy shop and at Artzi Stuff in downtown Nanaimo.  And I mean SALE — since I want to spread my art around with a smile, I am offering these once again for a great price — just $7.50 for each 12 x 18 inch poster!

These poster calendars are is printed professionally (and locally) on 100% recycled paper. Good for the earth and great for the office, kitchen, or studio to help you count the days. I highly encourage reusing this calendar too — at the end of the year, crop off the months and save the art for your wall.

Have a look and make an order soon if you want some in time for Christmas gift giving.  I am placing my first print order on Wed Dec 11th, so can deliver or ship the first orders shortly after that.  Of course, I am happy to take orders from you any time and will get them to you as fast as possible (printing takes 2-5 business days).

I am going to settle in and enjoy this busy festive last month of the 2013 and when January comes I will be ready for another year of amazing-ness with a brand new calendar! Tea Cup will be at my work office, TRUST will go in my studio, Milk Please will go in the kitchen and my man has chosen Rain Meets the Sea for our home office.

I wonder, which 2014 design do you like the best?
